On Monday morning a 2009 Elon grad, Karen Hartshorn, spoke to my students about personal finance. She created a checklist of how students can begin thinking about their own finances, investing, and retirement.
All students received a copy of Suze Orman’s The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke. The book is comprehensive and a must-read for recent graduates.

Books for bridges
I bought 3 books for the bridges students that I thought would be useful for their life post-graduation. These are:
1) Gradspot.com’s Guide to Life After College by Chris Schonberger, Stuart Schultz, David Klein and Tory Hoen
2) The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman
3) Not For Tourists Guide to New York City: 2012
I am interested to see how they like (and use) these books.
